MINDFUL DISTRATION: Posted: November 9, 2020

There is a lot of commotion and emotion being projected into the world right now. To avoid overwhelm, I spent a sunny Saturday outside, mostly on the goat farm. I wanted to mindfully distract myself. I was very content in doing simple tasks and being distracted by the goats. I love how each one has a very unique personality. The combination of gorgeous weather, serene farm, and silliness of the goats uplifted my mood. What are you doing today, this week, to uplift your mood? Tell me!

MY HEART IS HEAVY: Posted November 2, 2020

I want to share with you a Metta Meditation of forgiveness. This practice, in particular is owning your energy in a situation. You are practicing giving loving kindness to others, regardless. We all hold our own values and beliefs. We all, hopefully, want the best for ourselves and those around us. At times, conflict arises because our values and beliefs are not totally aligning with another or collective and hurt can happen. I feel this with a heavy heart this week. Let this practice be a start of opening your heart.

I WENT ON A GOAT HIKE: Posted October 26, 2020

I am finding myself needing to step back from digital life. I spent a few hours this weekend on Gretta’s Goats Farm. I would usually be teaching a goat yoga class, but Gretta and I agree, yoga classes weren’t in the best interest of the farm this year due to health concerns of COVID-19. A new offering has begun, Goat Hikes! I have done a few goat hikes now and I love it. The hikes are about an-hour long with a few of the baby goats, mamma goats, and Nugget and Smarty Marty (if you follow Gretta’s social media you know why they are named on their own). It is an enjoyable hour in which I felt allotted time to be in nature and interact with the silliness and playfulness of the goats. I am sharing the Facebook Live of the last hike on Saturday HERE:
My question and check-in for you this week, is what are you doing for you this week, for at least one-uninterrupted-hour, in which you can do something enjoyable?

WHEN PLANS CHANGE: Posted September 28, 2020

I am very ready for this week! My weekend did not go as plan. It isn’t bad or good. It just happened that way. I planned to have a chill, slow weekend. I had been thinking of how I was going to spend the quite pockets of time I had set aside. Nope, that didn’t happened. Totally okay. I had to be good with not being attached to the idea of ideal time. I had a practice in non-attachment; letting go of my assumptions to allow space for something else. The allocation for the “something else” is not bad or good; just what I needed. The next time you find yourself, at least working with me, not going as expected, be open to something else. A few examples: within a yoga lunge, exploring a gentle pelvic tilt to give ease on the psoas muscle (you can explore this in the newest YOUTUBE video below); or a massage isn’t as deep because the superficial muscles are too tight and more stretching will occur. It may not have been the plan but it works out that way. The awareness you can cultivate can shift how you move forward.

FALL EQUINOX: Posted: September 21, 2020

HAPPY FALL EQUINOX on Tuesday!
Equinox is the time of year in which the sun is directly in line with the Equator; balancing light and dark. Tuesday will give us equal day and night. The energy of the Equinox is an opportunity for an assessment of balance in life. Where in your life are you taking in too much or not enough? Are you seeing yourself being more giving or too receptive? Take a few minutes for an inventory. On a piece of paper, split it in half and label one side too much and the other not enough. Fill in each column with anything and everything; think of this as a release of things spinning in your thoughts. Next steps are up to you. I encourage you to take action of what you want to limit to allow for more. However, please don’t feel like change takes big action. The intentional thought of what you want to leave behind or add into your life will fuel the motivation. You are balanced as is, the external can distract and checking-in can be a reminder of your stability.

MASSIVE THANK YOU: Posted: September 14, 2020

I posted on social media a thank you to massage clients. Honestly, EVERY ONE OF YOU deserves a thank you. I moonlight as a Registered Nurse. I keep a consistent/inconsistent (pending) schedule. I am not always available at times and may have to change appointments/classes as needed. I also am VERY CAREFUL of how I interact with others amidst this pandemic time. I want to tell you I AM GRATEFUL for your SUPPORT and UNDERSTANDING of operations of yoga and massage. I want you safe and healthy and advocate best practices with each opportunity. THANK YOU for staying with me on this adventure. Though physically solo, I don't feel alone.

Sending you with so MUCH LOVE, Laura

HAPPY 100 ONLINE OFFERINGS!!!! Posted: August 31, 2020

100! I am celebrating 100 online offerings since March 22nd. August 11th, the 45 noon class, was my 100th offering! I miscalculated awhile back and thought I would hit this mark in September. So, the time passed without much acknowledgement.

First off, THANK YOU to everyone who joined live or practice a replay. I am grateful for your participation, support, and love.

Secondly, it is a good reminder that consistency and accountability in actions can lead to reaching goals, milestones, and any other forms of check-ins. Reaching this number, for me, had some struggles but staying consistent and accountable made this doable. What are consistent practices you have? If you are wanting to try something again or new, I hope this is encouragement for you.

Sending you with so MUCH LOVE, Laura
