METTA MEDITATION: Posted: August 24, 2020

First off, I hated to have to do this, but tonight’s (8/24th) Metta Meditation is cancelled. I moonlight as a nurse and asked to cover a shift during this time. I’ll be back next Monday (8/31st). Practice a MINI METTA MEDITATION HERE
Thank you for understanding. All other classes are still the same.

How are you doing? Are you doing well?
Lately, I have started a practice of sitting on my front porch first thing in the morning. I am a person who wakes up slowly and find if I don’t get out of bed when I awake my day is already dragging. So, just at dawn, I can be seen on my front porch gazing wherever. I have found this grounding practice to start my day. I don’t feel overwhelmed. For sure, no cell phone is allowed near me during this time. What do you do first thing in the morning to ground yourself? If you don’t have one thing your practice, can you try one?

Are you catching the Awareness Series? Interesting ways to connect your body to your practice. Below is last week's CHIN & JAW. If you are limited on time, but need a check-in, I encourage you to take the first 20 minutes. Especially if you sit at desk the majority of time.

Sending you with so MUCH LOVE, Laura

SLOW FLOW: AWARENESS SERIES: CHIN + JAW: HERE

AWARENESS: Posted August 10, 2020

How are you doing? Let’s take a FULL INHALE and EXHALE SLOWLY together.

Have you been joining in on Wednesday Night’s Slow Flow? It has evolved into something interesting. During the warmest time of the year, I like to teach slower flows. The AWARENESS SERIES has come from this practice. Each week, the focus is on anatomical alignment of one area of the body first and yoga posture second. Bringing awareness to anatomical alignment gives insight to any chronic holding patterns. You are being given a guided opportunity to check-in, often, and assess how each yoga pose is benefiting you. You are adjusting to the cues based on your needs.
This week: Shoulders
The first video, feet focused available now on my YOUTUBE channel.

HUMBLE + CONSISTENT: Posted August 3, 2020

How are you doing today? Right now? In this breath? Inhale fully. Exhale completely. Repeat as needed. …

I am referring to the time as a “new norm”. I think this isn’t new anymore. This IS. I have to stop and take a few cycles of deep breaths and gently remind myself, YES this is STILL NEW and it is okay to be adjusting. I am finding myself fairly happy and content in offering consistent online classes. I forgive myself for not booking massage appointments at the pre-pandemic volume; it isn’t possible and be able to run a safe practice. My offerings are humble but consistent. I kinda like the theme of my new norm; humble and consistent. There is safety and trust in this concept. What in your life can you anchor into as humble and consistent? Does it feel like an area to reset and recharge? Having humble consistency can help adjust to this new normality.

Much Love,
Laura

STILLNESS : Posted July 13, 2020

Happy Monday! This week is a stable week for me, my business, and my practice. I feel like this is a good week to BE PRESENT with all things. For this week, there isn’t a lot of NEW news. I tend to like times of stillness as it is an opportunity to be present but also be non-reactive. I can find myself getting frustrated with completing to-do lists, giving extra, and sharing more. In these moments, I find my responses are reactions and not thoughtful or meaningful. I am going to enjoy the stability of stillness this week. I will sit in the peace, the discomfort, and the variety of thoughts and feelings which can arise. Perhaps you will too? Sending you MUCH LOVE, Laura
